Saline County Sustains Winning Record

Beating This Year’s $40,000 Goal Will Make It FOUR In A Row!

Saline County had very successful annual campaign in 2007.   With the help of our generous business community and a broad range of individual and group donations, we have consistently raised what’s needed to insure that our United Way Affiliated Agencies can continue to focus their energies on what matters™: community impact .  Just click on the “Funded Agencies” tab at the top of this page to see a list of the great organizations we have selected for funding.

You can help us continue our winning ways by clicking on the “Donate Now” button on the UWSI home page.  Your tax-deductible gift will stay right here in Saline County and help guarantee that our Affiliated Agencies get the support they need.

You can also help us by serving as a United Way volunteer.  Just click on the “Volunteer Now” button on the UWSI home page to make contact with us by e-mail.  We’ll get back to you quickly.  Depending on your interests, skills and availability, you could work with us on special events, serve on our Allocations Committee (to review funding requests), or provide leadership as a member of our Advisory Board.  As one of our United Way campaign slogans says, “Together, we can accomplish what none of us can achieve alone!”

Community Impact Grants Improve Lives in Saline County

United Way Lends A Helping Hand – Thanks to Your Help!

After meeting all of its obligations to United Way Affiliated Agencies, our Saline County Advisory Board places donations into its Community Impact Grant Fund .  The money is used for one-time donations to meet special needs of local not-for-profit organizations (such as Friends of Scouts, the Guardian Center , CASA of Saline County, and the Alliance Against Meth Abuse) and for initiatives such as our “Clothes for Kids” project.  Clothes for Kids – which is dedicated to the memory of one of our area’s finest young people, Zachary Williams, who died  in an automobile accident while serving in the Air Force – purchases new tennis shoes and clothing each fall for K-12 school children who could not otherwise afford to have them.  Our one-time grants have also supported the holiday season’s “Shop with a Cop” program, helped pay rent for families who suddenly find themselves homeless, helped upgrade utilities for a grandmother who unexpectedly became guardian of her three young grandchildren, purchased bicycles for children who could not afford to own them, and met other compelling needs.  We could not lend help in all these ways without your generous support!  On behalf of all those you have helped, we say, “THANK YOU!”
